Learn the whole job. We are taking three graduates in February 2027, and teaching each of them to look after a client from the first conversation to the completed job.
About the program
Prime Partners is a Sydney accounting and advisory firm working with Australian businesses, their owners and families. Our structured two year program combines practical accounting and tax work, early client contact and growing responsibility, with a senior buddy and experienced accountants, managers and directors to guide you.
With just three graduates in the intake, you will learn as a cohort and have opportunities for the team to get to know your strengths. The program starts in late February 2027.
What you will learn
- Prepare tax returns, BAS and financial statements, with review and guidance
- Speak with clients, gather information and assist with ATO matters
- Understand business structures, and company and trust establishment processes
- Follow jobs through scoping, quoting, preparation, signing and invoicing
- Use technology including Xero, FYI and responsible AI tools, and coordinate work with our Australian and Sri Lankan teams
You are not expected to know all this on day one. We teach you, review your work and increase your responsibility as your skills develop.
A clear pathway and support
Four six month stages, Learn, Contribute, Own and Develop, give you clear expectations, with development and salary reviews at each stage. Successful completion leads into an Accountant role, with further progression as your capability grows.
You will receive $60,000 to $65,000 plus super, depending on relevant experience, a senior buddy and regular feedback. We support progression into the CA Program through financial support and study assistance, subject to performance and eligibility.
Who we are looking for
- You will complete an accounting degree, or a commerce degree with an accounting major, by February 2027
- You are curious, reliable, communicate clearly and pay attention to detail
- Accounting experience is welcome but not essential. Part time work, volunteering and university activities also count
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or Australian permanent residency. Visa sponsorship is not available
Your first year is based in our North Sydney office five days a week, so you can learn alongside your buddy and the wider team.
